About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Occupational Health Technician to join our team at Network Rail. As an OH Technician, you will be based in one of our Occupational Health centres and be part of a team providing an outstanding occupational health service for Network Rail line managers and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing quality health monitoring services to prevent, manage and reduce work-related ill-health
  • Conducting health assessments, including audiometry, spirometry, HAVs Tier 1 health assessments, blood pressure and drug and alcohol testing
  • Managing employee OH records and updating them in line with legislative requirements
  • Working independently and as part of a team to deliver a high-quality occupational health service
Requirements
  • Experience as an Occupational Health Technician or a Health Care Assistant with an interest in screening or a medic with a few years' experience and a willingness to develop clinical skills relevant to the role
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR compliance
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge of occupational health and risk assessment processes
  • Certificated training in health surveillance and assessments (e.g., audiometry, spirometry)
  • Safety critical or rail industry experience
  • Data analysis
