About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team in London. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for producing and delivering high-quality financial returns, regulatory reports, and compliance documents to Lloyd's, FCA/PRA, and other relevant authorities.
Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing efficient systems and processes to extract relevant data from underwriting and financial systems, ensuring timely submission of accurate and compliant reports.
This role requires a qualified Accountant with experience in the insurance industry, specifically in syndicate reporting, system implementations, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build systems/analysis tools/spread sheets to extract data from underwriting and financial systems and upload into the core market returns.
- Production and delivery of all Lloyd's returns and other applicable financial regulatory and compliance returns in accordance with the Lloyd's and FCA/PRA timetables.
- Completion of US/CAD trust fund returns.
- Assist in production of Syndicate and related entity financial results and annual report.
- Assist in production of other annual reports and accounts for associated Everest syndicate companies.
- Designing and implementing key controls over the financial reporting process.
- Undertake project work including development of new processes and implementation of change.
- Contributing to successful audit outcomes by internal and external auditors.
- Reconciliation of syndicate ledgers including cashbooks to bank accounts, regulatory and situs funds.
- Processing of technical/non-technical accounting ledger entries, invoices, and bank payments.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Experience working in the insurance industry.
- Excellent knowledge of the Lloyd's market, the financial and regulatory landscape, and core market returns and other reporting forms required by Lloyd's (and FCA/PRA where equivalent).
- Good system (Excel/GL etc) skills to be able to extract relevant data and present within the Lloyd's returns.
- Ability to analyse and self-audit the forms, including liaison with underwriting teams to verify data.
- Good communication skills, ability to interact at all levels.
- Project management, prioritisation, and time-keeping skills.
