Exam Invigilator Role

GSL Education is seeking reliable and dedicated individuals to support our examination process in and around Birmingham.

As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a key role in upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process and will be expected to independently run an exam room once all training has been complete.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct examinations in accordance with JCQ guidance
  • Uphold the integrity of the examination/assessment process
  • Report to and be briefed by the exams coordinator prior to each exam session
  • Keep confidential exam papers and materials secure
  • Ensure exam rooms are set out according to instructions
  • Admit candidates into exam rooms
  • Identify, seat, and instruct candidates in the conduct of their exams
  • Distribute the correct exam papers and materials to candidates
  • Deal with candidate queries
Before Exams:
  • Report to and be briefed by the exams coordinator
  • Keep confidential exam papers and materials secure
  • Ensure exam rooms are set out according to instructions
  • Admit candidates into exam rooms
  • Identify, seat, and instruct candidates in the conduct of their exams
  • Distribute the correct exam papers and materials to candidates
  • Deal with candidate queries
During Exams:
  • Supervise and observe candidates at all times
  • Be vigilant throughout exams
  • Keep disruption in exam rooms to a minimal
  • Deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively
  • Record/report any incidents, disruption, or irregularities
  • Complete attendance registers
  • Deal with candidate questions according to regulations
After Exams:
  • Instruct candidates in finishing their exams
  • Collect exam scripts
  • Dismiss candidates from the exam room
  • Check candidate's names on the script, match the details on the attendance registers
  • Securely return all exam scripts and exam materials to the exams coordinator
  • Attend training, update or review sessions as required
  • Undertake other duties requested by the exams coordinator
