About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Design Technology teacher to join our dynamic department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in igniting a passion for design and problem-solving in students, equipping them with valuable technical skills and fostering creative thinking.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their design and practical skills effectively, including planning, construction, and using a variety of materials and tools.
- Encourage creativity and problem-solving skills, fostering a culture of experimentation and innovation in the design process.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Design Technology curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's vision, national requirements, and the latest advancements in design education, such as integrating technology and sustainability principles.
- A qualified Design Technology teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their design and practical skills.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of design and problem-solving in students of all abilities.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment in the workshop.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
