About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Process Quality Engineer to join our team at Tyman UK and Ireland. This role is crucial in ensuring that our manufacturing and operational processes adhere to the highest quality standards, driving continuous improvement and excellence.

Main Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: To carry out all actions in line with group health and safety requirements, proactively conducting health and safety observation logging, and leading health and safety discussions with staff members as required.
  • Complaint Resolution: Work with the Product Quality Manager to prioritize complaints, determine the root cause of failures, and write reports on findings to support complaint resolution actions.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process improvement by working with operations and the manufacturing teams at both ERA, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Quality Auditing: Conduct quality auditing both internally and externally as part of the business IMS, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Material Review Board: Drive and coordinate the MRB, Material Review Board, to ensure a timely resolution of material-related issues, including GI material, WIP, and supplier NCRs.
  • Supplier Development: Promote supplier development and improvement by monitoring performance against agreed KPIs for both China and ROW, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Quality Improvement Projects: Support and attend quality improvement projects/new product meetings as a presence from the QC department, cascading information and ensuring effective communication.
  • Continuous Improvement: Initiate and/or support continuous improvement activities as a result of complaints/customer queries, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Product Surveillance: Undertake product surveillance inspection activities, including incoming product AQL, in-process component, and manufactured product investigation inspections in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report back to management on a monthly basis on product failures, analyzing trends and areas of concern, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage areas or issues with a high risk to the business, implementing corrective actions to mitigate potential risks.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Approve and generate SOPs/FQCs/TQCs where relevant, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: To have an understanding of Health and Safety requirements in the workplace and to be able to work in a safe manner at all times.
  • CAD and GDT Knowledge: To have good knowledge of CAD, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), and the ability to analyze and critique technical drawings.
  • Manufacturing Experience: To have experience in manufacturing processes and to be hands-on, with a strong understanding of production workflows and quality control procedures.
  • Quality Tools and Techniques: To ideally have a knowledge of Kaizen, Six Sigma, and to be able to carry out Six Sigma analysis on product failures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Product Compliance: Capability to assess product compliance against pre-determined criteria, ensuring that products meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Inspection Equipment: Proficient at using general inspection equipment, including measuring equipment, to conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficient using Microsoft Office packages, especially Word & Excel, to generate and roll out operating procedures, and to define and document inspection criteria.
  • Quality Tools and Techniques: To have a knowledge of quality tools and techniques, and to give examples of when they have implemented these techniques, demonstrating a strong understanding of quality control principles.
