Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Officer will work closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure timely supply of approved materials at cost-effective prices while maintaining quality and delivery requirements. The successful candidate will support the Purchasing Manager in developing strong relationships with new and existing suppliers to create robust and efficient supply chains.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the qualification efforts on prospective vendors based on documented processes and vendor surveys
- Lead the ECO process for purchasing, working with the BOMAG team to ensure timely completion
- Understand demand requirements and react decisively to resolve supply chain constraints
- Resolve differences with regard to supplier costs, quality, deliveries, and payments
- Ensure Purchase Order delivery dates and confirmations are up to date at all times
- Review SAP daily in regard to Material Lists, Traffic Lights, expedite/deferrals
- Review SAP and update Master Data
- Monitor Supplier Delivery and Quality Performance
- Assist with reviewing and adjusting Safety stock levels and raising Purchase Orders to replenish stock for Remote Sites
- Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Three years' experience of buying raw materials within a manufacturing fast-paced environment
- Broad end-to-end supply chain and operations process knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and colleagues
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- CIPS qualification (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply), Minimum level 3
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software
