Health and Safety Advisor Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading civil engineering company as a Health and Safety Advisor. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment for employees and visitors by implementing best practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and investigations of incidents, dangerous occurrences, health issues, and near misses.
  • Provide advice and support to on-site and office-based staff on all aspects of health and safety, environmental, and energy systems and procedures.
  • Source, plan, and deliver training to employees, ensuring it meets recognised standards.
  • Assess the competence of subcontractors.
  • Contribute to the development of operating procedures and other aspects of safety, health, environmental, and energy management systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and write method statements, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in health and safety.
  • Preferably experience in a health and safety role within the civil engineering/infrastructure sector.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
