Academics is seeking a dedicated SEN Specialist to join our team at a primary school in Rochford, Essex. As a SEN Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering SEN children to reach their full potential.

Job Details:
  • Position: SEN Specialist
  • Location: Rochford, Essex
  • Contract: Long-term with the view of going permanent
  • Salary: £83-£100 per day
  • Working Days: Monday-Friday
Responsibilities:
  1. Provide 1:1 support for a child with special educational, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, ensuring their full integration into classroom activities and progression.
  2. Implement specific programs and activities tailored to meet individual learning and social needs, collaborating with class teachers and the SENCo on pupils' Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
  1. A strong understanding of Autism and effective strategies, such as TEACCH, to support pupils with this need.
  2. Knowledge and empathy for social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as cognitive challenges affecting children and young people's development.
  3. A champion for inclusion, promoting and supporting the participation of all pupils in learning and social skills activities.
