About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Airport Mail Screener to join our team at East Midlands Air Hub. As a Mail Screener, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt and preparation of mail for aircraft departure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interrogate mail by profiling and x-ray screening to identify prohibited and threatening items, including explosives, incendiary and other devices.
  • Decipher and evaluate computer screen images to ensure accurate identification of mail content.
  • Calibrate screening machines to DfT standards and maintain a high level of concentration during repetitive tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with the police or other government agencies as required.

Requirements

  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and numerical skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-security environment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Successful completion of a DfT approved Level E course and an Ishihara colour blindness test.
