Join The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as a Clinical Fellow in Experimental Medicine

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Fellow in Experimental Medicine to join our team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHSFT. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to gain further experience in early phase clinical trials, including first-in-human trials, clinical pharmacology trials, and translational research.

The successful candidate will participate in a diverse range of clinical research trials as a co-/sub-investigator and manage all aspects of trial patients. They will also be required to attend 6 trial outpatient clinics per week, Safety Review Committee meetings, molecular tumour board meetings, and wait list meetings.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. As a Clinical Fellow in Experimental Medicine, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly motivated and empowered workforce, delivering innovative early phase research in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and Trust policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a diverse range of clinical research trials as a co-/sub-investigator
  • Manage all aspects of trial patients, including attending clinic sessions, safety reviews, and molecular tumour boards
  • Collaborate with clinical, academic, and administrative staff throughout the Trust and with external organisations
Requirements
  • Completion of Internal Medicine Training (IMT) to IMT2 or above, or acute care common Stem programme (or equivalent)
  • MRCP or equivalent, or willingness to work toward MRCP
  • GMC registration
  • Experience managing oncology or haemato-oncology patients
  • Understanding of research processes and clinical trials
