Accounts & Tax Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Accounts & Tax Assistant to join our dynamic team at BTG Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns and accounts for sole traders and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Tax Returns and Accounts: You will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely tax returns and accounts for our clients.
  • Liaise with Clients: You will liaise directly with clients to gather necessary information and handle queries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage Client Accounts: You will manage client accounts using software such as QuickBooks and FreeAgent, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial document preparation.
  • Ensure Accuracy: You will ensure the accuracy of profit and loss statements and other financial documents, maintaining the highest standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Client Portfolio Management: You will handle a portfolio of clients, maintaining strong communication and ensuring the timely completion of tasks.
Skills & Experience:
  • Personal Tax and Profit & Loss Reporting: You will have experience in personal tax and profit & loss reporting, with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Accounting Software Proficiency: You will be proficient in QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and other accounting software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You will possess excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
