About the Role:

Meridian Business Support is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase of our clients' projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Cost Estimation: Accurately estimate project costs and prepare competitive bids for our clients' construction projects.
  • Material Take-Offs and Labour Estimates: Conduct thorough material take-offs and labour estimates for each project phase.
  • Subcontractor Management: Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Project Budgeting and Scheduling: Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate project budgets and schedules.
  • Cost Analysis and Reporting: Provide timely and accurate cost estimates for client proposals and analyze cost data and market trends to ensure competitiveness and profitability.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Conquest etc).
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
  • Analytical and Mathematical Skills: Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
