We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in providing inclusive education and pastoral care to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

**Responsibilities:**

* Provide nurturing support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions and develop coping strategies.

* Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies, working collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to create and maintain a positive learning environment.

* Offer tailored support to students both in and out of the classroom, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

* Build trusting relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem and encouraging positive social interactions.

* Work closely with educational psychologists, social workers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students with SEMH needs.

* Track and report on student progress, contributing to reviews and assessments to support their educational and personal development.

**Requirements:**

* Experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational or similar setting.

* Understanding of SEMH issues and effective strategies for supporting students.

* Patience, resilience, and a calm demeanour to manage challenging situations sensitively.

* Excellent communication skills to liaise with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues effectively.

* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to the school community.
