Climate Change and Sustainability Specialist

Our Climate Science and ESG Consulting team is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Climate Change and Sustainability Specialist with knowledge on a range of topics which include: ESG and climate-risk standards and regulations, performing climate change risk assessments and on asset operations, particularly assets in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact, working with a diverse range of clients across industries including energy, infrastructure and finance, helping them meet their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals and address the challenges posed by climate change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physical Climate Risk Assessment: Evaluate physical climate risks based on exposure of particular assets or portfolios of assets to physical climate hazards using DNV's internal tools. Determine the vulnerability of the assets to those hazards and work with clients to develop the means to improve resilience
- Transition Climate Risk Assessment: Support the evaluation of transitional climate risks, integrate findings into financial models, and develop risk mitigation strategies for clients using state-of-art geospatial tools and machine learning methods
- ESG Advisory: Support ESG due diligence assessments, develop ESG strategies, and advise clients on sustainability best practices, ensuring alignment with international frameworks and standards
- Regulatory Compliance: Advise clients on compliance with key sustainability regulations and standards, including the Paris Agreement, TCFD, and EU Taxonomy, ensuring that their operations and reporting meet legal and societal expectations
- Client Communication: Prepare and present high-quality reports and presentations that clearly communicate complex analyses and recommendations to a non-technical audience
- Business Development: Contribute to the growth of the Climate Science and ESG Consulting team by supporting business development activities, including proposal writing and client relationship management.

- A Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Ability to understand the design and operational parameters associated with equipment and systems and the impact of changes to those parameters on asset performance and lifecycle
- Experience working on climate change, sustainability, or ESG projects is preferable, ideally within a consulting environment. Exposure to energy and infrastructure industries is desirable
- Strong analytical abilities, with a track record of delivering complex data-driven insights and solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Passion for Sustainability: A deep commitment to sustainability and the drive to make a positive impact through your work
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment.
