About The Role

The Nelson Trust, in partnership with Cheltenham YMCA, is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to provide vital support to women residing in a safe space accommodation unit. As an Out-of-Hours Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of these women while they work towards long-term recovery.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide on-call support to residents, responding promptly to phone calls or in-person requests for assistance.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment within the accommodation unit.
  • Collaborate with other Nelson Trust and Cheltenham YMCA staff to deliver comprehensive support services.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with residents.

About You

We are looking for individuals who possess a genuine commitment to empowering women and supporting their journey towards positive change. You will have:

  • A passion for working with women in a holistic, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a zero-hour contract position with a maximum of 6 out-of-hours shifts per month. You will be compensated at £25 per on-call shift, with an hourly rate of between £12-£13 for any call outs, depending on your experience.
