Design Engineer Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Asset Appointments. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in developing products from concept through to manufacture, as well as contributing to product and process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new and existing products for manufacturing.
  • Contribute to research and development, including prototype builds and testing.
  • Identify and implement product improvement projects.
  • Create production-ready data, including engineering drawings, bills of materials, and 3D CAD models.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant product approvals.
  • Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and development partners as required.
  • Adhere to internal quality management systems.
  • Contribute to the management of product development projects.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications, such as BEng, HND/C, or similar, in engineering or product/industrial design.
  • Proven experience working in a design/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of design strategy and its application.
  • Ability to drive and manage product development projects.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to responding to dynamic development environments.
  • Excellent 3D CAD skills, preferably in Solidworks, and knowledge of good engineering practice.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Package:

Salary: £40,000 - £53,000 (dependent on experience) + PR Bonus (up to 8%) + Flexible working arrangements + Benefits (39-hour week, 07:30 - 16:00 Mon - Thurs, 07:00 - 14:00 Fri)
