Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs of young children.
- Ensure all meals are balanced, healthy, and in line with nursery guidelines and food safety standards.
- Accommodate children with specific dietary requirements, allergies, and food intolerance's.
- Ensure portion control and provide age-appropriate meals to support children's growth and development.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Manage kitchen stock, order fresh ingredients, and ensure proper storage.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
- Serve food to students and staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist with setting up and packing away equipment.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including food hygiene standards.
- Work as part of a team to ensure smooth operations in school kitchens.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in catering or a similar role is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work on an ad-hoc basis, sometimes with short notice.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one (required) is also essential.
- Hold Level 2 or above in Catering / Food Hygiene or equivalent.
