Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our technical team. As a Software Engineer at Higher Park, you will play a key role in the build, enhancement, and support of our internal systems. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of our software solutions, and eventually take ownership of specific subsystems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of core software engineering practices and platform maturity
  • Design and implement data sourcing and ingestion pipelines
  • Develop quantitative systems involving modeling, risk, portfolio construction, and other related areas
  • Work on internal user-facing portal and tooling
  • Contribute to the development of our data lake and analytics capabilities
Requirements
  • Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science)
  • At least 3 years of experience in Python development, including Pandas/Numpy, parsing structured and unstructured data, and API development
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with cloud environments, especially AWS
  • Finance industry experience, preferably in the equity space
  • Desirable skills include full-stack experience, hands-on secondary language experience (e.g., JavaScript, Java), and experience with data engineering, data analysis, and building multi-layer data architectures
