Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Marcus Webb Associates Limited. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing cutting-edge transmission, driveline, and actuation systems for various industries.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize state-of-the-art simulation techniques and design tools to design, develop, and prototype transmission, driveline, and actuation systems from concept.
- Perform first-principal engineering through design tools, calculations, analysis, simulation, drawings, and technical reporting.
- Specify materials, processes, and designs for the function of transmission, driveline, and actuation components.
- Take ownership or support proposals/quotes from initiation through to submission with clients.
- Collaborate on and own technical projects and work packages for various EV clients.
- Proven experience of transmission, driveline, or actuation design and/or analysis for automotive, marine, aerospace, renewable energy applications, or similar.
- High standard of competency in design and CAE analysis of rotating systems.
- A strong understanding of the fundamental principles of mechanical engineering and applying them to solve complex problems.
- Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or similar.
- Demonstrate that you have personally been responsible for designing a product or system to a set of requirements, used CAD to do geometry, understand analysis of components, and created 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Successfully supported small to medium-sized projects both technically and commercially.
- Proficiency in key software packages within drivetrain engineering (SMT MASTA, Romax, Creo, UGNX, Catia).
- The command of a foreign language is a benefit, particularly French, German, or Korean.
- Awareness of the commercial approach of a consultancy business will be advantageous.
