Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join our finance team at Plus One Recruitment. As a Legal Cashier, you will play a crucial part in supporting the team, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules
  • Perform daily banking tasks, including online banking, transferring funds, making electronic payments, and recording receipts
  • Handle general enquiries and resolve internal queries
  • Reconcile bank, petty cash, and general ledgers
  • Process client billing accounts receivable and issue client and office cheques
  • Paying interest on client account monies
  • Assist with paying suppliers via the online banking system
  • Perform general administration and housekeeping of files and ledgers
  • Contact the bank with queries and cheque cancellations
  • Reconcile control accounts as required

Requirements:

  • Experience in general accounting procedures in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules in a legal practice
  • Credit control experience is advantageous
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • A methodical approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Proficient IT skills, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A committed team-worker
