Job Title: Patient Access Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide patient instructions, collect insurance information, and process physician orders while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard, relay incoming/outgoing and inter-office calls, and adhere to policies while providing compassionate customer service.
  • Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accurate accounts, conduct audits, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and patient information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms, obtain necessary signatures, and witness names.
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems, select applicable insurance plan codes, and enter benefit data to support POS collections and billing processes.
  • Distribute and document designated forms and pamphlets, including the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • CRCR Certification Required within 6 months of hire
