Behaviour Support Mentor Role

Guardian Selection Limited is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join a dynamic team at a client school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with students who need support in managing their behaviour and social interactions, helping them to succeed both academically and personally.

Job Summary:

As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through their challenges, promoting positive behaviours, and fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. Your efforts will help students build the skills they need to engage effectively in their education and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviours, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and attention.
  • Help implement personalised behaviour plans, focusing on promoting positive behaviour and enhancing students' learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to provide consistent, tailored support across the school, ensuring all students are included and supported.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to both teachers and parents to track behavioural and academic development.
  • Encourage the development of essential skills, including social skills, emotional resilience, and conflict resolution strategies to help students succeed in and out of the classroom.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience supporting students with challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
