Refrigeration Equipment Technician

This is a key role within City Facilities Management, responsible for carrying out a planned refrigeration case maintenance programme across multiple site locations. The successful candidate will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, while adhering to the company's Health and Safety policy.

No formal qualifications in refrigeration or electrical work are required; comprehensive training will be provided.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times.
  2. To ensure case maintenance schedules are completed within agreed timescales.
  3. To be aware of regulations and codes of practice applicable to the tasks.
  4. Demerchandising & remerchandising of refrigeration units.
  5. Utilisation of chemicals.
  6. To carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client.
  7. To work with colleagues to ensure that laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  8. To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the company.
  9. To support the achievement of company KPIs.
  10. To work to support the lowest cost to operate ethos.
  11. To ensure all systems are working to optimum energy efficiency.
  12. When required, support other engineering disciplines to provide flexibility to service delivery.
  13. To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  14. To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical and business developments.
Requirements:
  1. Retail experience (desirable)
  2. Cleaning or maintenance industry (desirable)
  3. Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  4. Speed efficiency and quality of work
  5. Helpful/ friendly manner
  6. Customer focused
  7. Self-motivated
  8. Planning/organising skills
  9. Flexible and adaptable attitude to job role
  10. Requirement to undertake further personal development
  11. Willingness to work night shifts
  12. To be mobile and have a full driving licence
