Specialty Doctor in Rheumatology

Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) is seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor to contribute to our dynamic Rheumatology Department. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care within both outpatient and inpatient settings, collaborating closely with consultants and specialized nurses to meet the healthcare needs of the Doncaster and Bassetlaw community.

Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive examinations, investigations, and treatments for patients in the Rheumatology Department.
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior doctors and specialized nurses.
• Actively participate in internal and external educational activities within the department.
• Contribute to research, audit, and clinical governance initiatives.
• Offer medical support to clinic staff.
• Manage administrative tasks related to Rheumatology.
• Establish effective communication with other hospital departments, general practitioners, and external agencies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of planned inpatient and outpatient services.

Working Environment:

As a prestigious Teaching Hospital, DBTH serves a large population in South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire. Within our Rheumatology Department, you will work alongside a team of consultants, junior doctors, specialist nursing staff, and a multidisciplinary team across various specialties. This position is based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary with opportunities for cross-site collaboration.

Requirements:

• MBchB/MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• MRCP (or equivalent) certification.
• Minimum of four years of postgraduate training, including two years in a relevant specialty.
• Full registration with the General Medical Council.
• Proven clinical experience and competence in Rheumatology.
• Ability to provide clinical knowledge applicable to the role.
• Experience in clinical teaching.
• Understanding of Audit principles.
• Proficiency in IT systems.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Flexibility to work across various locations.
