About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Technician to join our team at the Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our ambulance fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles, including ambulances, light commercial vehicles, and heavy goods vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair faults using electronic diagnosis equipment and technical knowledge.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with manufacturer training and certification to ensure expertise in vehicle specifications and equipment.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds/ BTEC/ NVQ3 in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent.
  • Accreditation in relevant manufacturers' training courses and Certification of Competence.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant vehicle specifications and equipment.
  • Auto Electrical, Welding and Fabrication techniques and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of Fleet Workshop policies, procedures and practices.
  • Preparation and repair work to MOT specification.
  • Service, maintain and repair specialist equipment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Considerable experience of service, maintenance and repair of a broad range of vehicles in a busy environment working to required timescales and standards.
  • Full use of up to date servicing and diagnostic electronic equipment.
  • Current driving licence (covering up to GVW) and for Class C1/D1 vehicles (or in the process of applying for required licence).
