Private Equity Coverage Senior Manager/Assistant Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Equity Coverage Senior Manager/Assistant Director to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Financial Sponsor Coverage team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term commercial relationships with financial sponsors, including Private Equity firms, to drive sustainable and profitable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive coverage strategy to identify and pursue new business opportunities with financial sponsors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers at Private Equity firms, including portfolio companies and fund managers.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on a range of financial and business matters, including M&A, fundraising, and portfolio company performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including partners, directors, and senior managers, to deliver high-quality services to clients.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including pitches, proposals, and tenders.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of client interactions, including meeting notes, emails, and phone calls.
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) or relevant work experience in a coverage role or transactional role.
- Existing network and relationships with decision-makers at Private Equity firms in the mid and upper-mid market.
- Solution-oriented mindset and client-centric approach, with a proven track record of building long-term trusted client relationships.
- Strong communication, listening, influencing, and interpersonal skills across organisational levels.
- Ability to build rapport and relationships in line with BDO values, which is collaborative in nature and a team player.
- Strong business/commercial acumen, goal and results-oriented, with the ability to measure and report on success.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities through effective prioritisation and delegation.
- Strong quantitative, numerical, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in working with data and research tools, ability to gather intelligence from public and internal sources, piece together information, draw clear and concise conclusions, and result in a strategy for pursuing new business opportunities.
- Independent, self-starter mindset, willing to think creatively and pursue projects without constant oversight, and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills, and experience in using tools such as PowerBI to create dashboards and reports.
