Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Care Specialist to join our team at Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust in Suffolk. This exciting opportunity will enable you to provide high-quality dental care to special care patients and contribute to the development of innovative services across the east of England.

About the Role
  • This role involves providing clinical dental care to clients with complex needs, including children, adults with additional needs, vulnerable adults, and looked-after children with complex social care needs.
  • You will work closely with our team of dental healthcare professionals, service leads, and specialists in special care and paediatric dentistry to deliver safe and compassionate care.
  • The post is based in Suffolk, but you may be required to work at other establishments in the surrounding area.
Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical dental care to patients on a domiciliary basis and under inhalation sedation.
  • Carrying out epidemiological screening programmes in line with Office for Health Improvement and Disparities protocols.
  • Supervising and supporting dental care professionals.
  • Providing clinical supervision and contributing to the monitoring, evaluation, and development of the Dental Service.
  • Communicating complex clinical information to patients and their families or carers.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be currently registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and on a relevant performers list.
  • Maintain your professional registration throughout your employment with us.
  • Participate in mandatory training and any other training relevant to the role as required by Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.
