Job Title: Associate Solicitor

Verastar Limited is seeking a highly skilled Associate Solicitor to join our legal team. As an Associate Solicitor, you will play a crucial role in minimizing legal and regulatory risk and aligning with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support our legal and compliance teams in managing day-to-day legal and compliance workflow.
  • Assist the General Counsel and Head of Regulatory Affairs with various CoSec, data protection, and litigation matters.
  • Work with the legal team on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and bespoke customer contracts, handling property affairs, and providing employment guidance.
  • Assist the compliance team in monitoring, summarizing, and submitting responses to regulatory documents, ensuring awareness of regulatory obligations, and working on compliance with regulatory changes.
  • Keep the team updated on legal developments and help the General Counsel share information/know-how with the business, delivering training where appropriate.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to key stakeholders within the business, ensuring that legal and regulatory risk is minimized throughout the group.
Requirements:
  • A qualified solicitor with a strong academic record and several years of post-qualification experience.
  • Relatable and positive experience of working in a fast-paced, constantly changing organization.
  • Some commercial experience, preferably in an in-house environment.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a sizeable workload with the requisite organizational skills.
