About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Specialist to join our Respiratory Ward at Noble's Hospital on the beautiful Isle of Man. Our team delivers non-invasive ventilation as well as being the dedicated ward within the hospital for tracheotomy care.
As a valued member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for the nursing assessment of patient care needs and safe transfer of patients within the hospital and organisation. You will also coordinate off-island transfers and contribute to the effective discharge planning of patients.
You will have the opportunity to promote your own ideas and skills to enhance our care quality, with access to training opportunities including advanced band training and specialised areas that align with your interests.
This varied and fulfilling position offers you the chance to advance your nursing career in a supportive environment, surrounded by a dedicated and compassionate team.
A workplace that invests in you
You can enjoy higher salaries compared to the UK, along with annual salary increases that extend beyond typical UK NHS pay scales. Your annual leave entitlement starts at 27 days and 10 Public Holidays.
Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements; the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.
You will have access to the staff canteen at Noble's Hospital where you can purchase affordable food and drinks in your breaks. Free on-site car parking is also available.
Our on-site education and training centre, Keyll Darree, comprises a lecture theatre, well-stocked medical library, training facilities and a state-of-the-art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners.
You will take advantage of the excellent opportunities we provide for your professional development, including the many courses we fund up to Masters Level.
Access to the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme after your first year of employment is available. The Learning, Education and Development training facility, exclusively for Public Service employees, will help you keep on top of your continuous professional development.
You will have free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service which offers professional counselling, emotional support and sign-posting on a wide range of issues.
Accommodation assistance is available for the first 6 months in your role at a reduced rate for non-Island residents.
A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month.
