About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Neurologist to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Neurologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our neurology services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist neurology care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of neurological conditions.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff.
  • Contribute to the development of our neurology services, including service redesign, quality improvement, and research.
  • Participate in teaching and training of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a valid license to practice.
  • Completion of Specialist Training (or equivalent) and entry on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or a CCT date within six months of the date of interview.
  • Experience of working as an independent practitioner in neurology, with a strong understanding of evidence-based medical practice.
  • Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
  • Experience of teaching and training junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to participate in clinical governance and audit activities.
