Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work as an Optical Assistant at our Specsavers store in Scarborough. Your primary responsibility will be to provide top-notch customer service, book eye tests, and pre-screen patients.


You will also be responsible for ensuring that everything runs smoothly by identifying and addressing any issues that may arise during the day.


Key Responsibilities
  • Greet Customers: Provide a warm welcome to our store and offer exceptional advice on eyewear.
  • Book Eye Tests: Schedule appointments for customers who require eye tests.
  • Patient Pre-Screening: Conduct initial assessments to determine if a patient requires an eye test.
  • Frame Measurement: Measure frames accurately to ensure a proper fit.

Training and Development

As an Optical Assistant, you will receive comprehensive training from our experienced team members, covering topics such as Level 3 Optical Assistant Apprenticeship Standard qualification, functional skills in maths and English, and End-Point Assessment (EPA).

To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication and organisation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
