Head of Cyber Operations

Robert Walters is partnering with a leading technology solutions business in the UK to find a Head of Cyber Operations. Due to accelerated growth and acquisition, the company is seeking a senior leader to oversee the SOC team and ensure efficient operations and cybersecurity standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving cybersecurity strategy, mentoring and managing the UK-wide SOC team, and enhancing threat detection capabilities. They will also design and implement streamlined processes, optimize automations, and monitor and analyze security events to coordinate effective responses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies to protect the organization's assets
  • Mentor and manage the SOC team to ensure efficient operations and cybersecurity standards
  • Enhance threat detection capabilities through the implementation of new technologies and processes
  • Design and implement streamlined processes and optimize automations to improve efficiency
  • Monitor and analyze security events to coordinate effective responses
  • Mitigate vulnerabilities and improve incident response times
  • Manage and optimize SIEM and SOAR platforms to improve security operations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a technical team manager with a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices
  • Cybersecurity expert with experience in SOC operations and SIEM/SOAR tools
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate across technical and non-technical staff
  • Experience in supporting secure infrastructure from change to BAU
  • Ability to provide security expertise, guidance, and assurance for projects

This is a permanent opportunity with a salary up to £85,000 plus package. The role is home-based, and the company is an industry leader with considerable growth year on year.
