We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our Shared Services Partnership team as a Senior Accountant within the Children's Services Team.
The successful candidate will have strong financial business partnering skills to support the Finance Manager, Principal Accountants, and service leaders in identifying and delivering challenging financial savings and service design.
The post holder will be responsible for working closely with service colleagues to provide day-to-day financial support and guidance, as well as longer-term financial planning.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of key financial transactions and processes, including budget monitoring, accruals, journals, virements, and purchasing.
They will also possess a can-do attitude and be willing to work as part of a team to support each other.
The role will suit someone keen to learn new skills, challenge existing processes, and embrace new technology and ways of doing things.
The successful candidate will be supported on the job to acquire specialist knowledge to provide ongoing support, advice, and challenge to the cost centre, project, and service managers.
They will identify any weaknesses in financial management and support directorates to innovate and continuously improve performance.
The successful candidate will have the ability to understand and interpret complex and changing statutory guidance, grant conditions, and reporting requirements.
They will also possess good verbal and written communication skills, be self-motivated, and have a demonstrable commitment to meeting targets and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial business partnering support to the Finance Manager, Principal Accountants, and service leaders.
- Work closely with service colleagues to provide day-to-day financial support and guidance.
- Develop and implement financial plans to support the delivery of challenging financial savings and service design.
