About the Role

Cays Inc is seeking a highly skilled Design Release Engineer - Thermal Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing thermal systems for battery energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop thermal systems, including HVAC heat exchangers, fluid transfer, and topology, for battery energy storage systems.
  • CAD Software Expertise: Possess a good working knowledge of NX CAD software.
  • System Architecture: Architect mature and develop BESS/module thermal systems from initial product scope and concepts through to design & release of prototype level components and systems.
  • Thermal Solution Selection: Downselect thermal solutions generated based on quantifiable product attributes, system cost, and weight.
  • 3D Geometry Development: Develop and mature 3D geometry of HVAC housings, ducts, heat exchangers, fluid transfer components, and fluid routing.
  • Weight, Cost, and Thermal Tracking: Track weight, cost, thermal, and power allocations.
  • Documentation and Communication: Prepare Statement of Work (SOW), Critical Item Development Specification (CIDS), Interface Control Document (ICD), and Source Selection Plan (SSP) for a Request for Proposal (RFP) to industry suppliers or for other purposes as required.
  • Supplier Management: Manage supplier design development progress, technical action item list, and transfer of engineering communication; interface with suppliers virtually and onsite; evaluate supplier cost quotes.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
