An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Midwife Practitioner to join the Women's Health Maternity ward at Whittington Health Trust.

As a key member of the Midwifery Team, you will provide total midwifery care for both high and low risk mothers under the direction of the Midwifery Team Leader (MTL). This will include the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of maternity care over a 24-hour period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Registered Midwife currently registered to practice
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as RM
  • Mentorship and assessing or equivalent
  • Must be able to practice in all areas in accordance with the Midwives rules and code of conduct
  • Can practice autonomously in the acute and primary care setting
  • Able to prioritize workload appropriately
  • Ability to conduct relationships in such a way that conflict is minimized
  • Ability to deal with challenging behavior and circumstances
  • Has advanced clinical skills including suturing, cannulation, maternal and neonatal resuscitation; PPH, shoulder dystocia, eclamptic fits
  • Examination of newborns
  • Competent interpreting CTG and intermittent monitoring
