About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Slough on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, with experience working with medical devices or in a related industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Inventor
  • Lead a small team of engineers to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production processes
  • Be involved in the final assembly of products and ensure quality control
  • Create technical documentation and project reports
  • Update 3D models and drawings as required
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
  • Check drawings for sign off and ensure accuracy

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of Mechanical Design experience
  • Experience working with medical devices or in a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection moulding
  • Experience leading teams, managing projects, handling complaints and solving problems
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar
  • Excellent mathematical ability and knowledge of mechanisms
  • Proficient using 3D CAD software
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
