## Job Title: Optometrist Specialist

## Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optometrist to join our team at a Specialist Eye Clinic in Fareham. As an Optometrist Specialist, you will be working with a highly skilled and diverse team to deliver exceptional patient care and transform the quality of people's vision.

### Key Responsibilities

* Conduct examinations associated with cataract surgery
* Run acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery for patients, documenting findings in electronic medical record systems
* Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital
* Provide first-line clinical advice to patients and refer to medical practitioners as necessary
* Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending mandatory update courses
* Maintain a clean working environment and adhere to hospital policies on uniform, decontamination, and sterilization
* Identify ways to improve processes and services to ensure a streamlined, efficient, and high-quality service
* Ensure compliance with pre-authorization processes and collection of surgery deposits
* Travel to hospital sites for training or meetings

### Requirements

* Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting
* Experience using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems
* Cataract experience (desirable), with training available for the right candidate
* IP qualification (desirable), with training available for the right candidate
