Job Summary

As an Assistant Accountant at Investec Capital Solutions, you'll be involved in various aspects of management and financial accounting tasks. You'll work closely with the Operations Team to ensure effective and timely reconciliations of Invoice Discounting Receivables books and Loans book movement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Operations Team to ensure accurate and timely reconciliations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations in multiple currencies.
  • Assist with month-end activities, including journal entries, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Take ownership of Accounts Payable activities.
  • Liaise with counterparties regarding intercompany transactions.
  • Reconcile balance sheets with appropriate commentary and produce relevant schedules.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, ICS Management, and other teams to drive business performance.
  • Prepare various reports and analysis required by the business each month.
  • Produce quarterly VAT returns and related reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of external financial audits.
  • Contribute to the production of statutory accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of external reporting to the British Business Bank.
  • Assist with budget preparation, reflecting expected growth in income and costs for the next financial year.
  • Support various projects undertaken by the ICS Finance department.
Requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of tasks.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude and integrity.
Desirable Attributes
  • Understanding of Invoice Finance and Asset-Based Lending.
  • Knowledge of HPD systems (Aquarius/AURA), JD Edwards/Hyperion/Essbase.
