HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Employment Law to lead the development of our Employment Law practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified solicitor with a strong background in employment law to take on a leadership role and drive the growth of our team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and managing a high-performing Employment Law team, ensuring excellent client service and legal expertise.
  • Providing expert legal advice on employment contracts, employee rights, workplace disputes, and compliance with employment law.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to expand and enhance our Employment Law practice, including business development and client relationship management.
  • Representing clients in negotiations, arbitrations, and litigation as necessary, and leading training and workshops for clients on employment-related matters.
  • Staying current on employment legislation and best practices to ensure compliance, and mentoring junior solicitors and staff to foster their growth and professional development.
  • Managing departmental budgets and financial performance, and building strong relationships with clients and collaborating with other departments for integrated services.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in employment law and strong leadership and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional business development skills and ability to handle complex and sensitive employment issues with discretion.
  • Knowledge of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, and commitment to fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to the development of our Employment Law practice.
