Senior Software Development Lead

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Lead to spearhead our code team for an exciting new project at Double Eleven. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing systems, optimising performance, and ensuring code quality while fostering team growth and motivation.

As a global gaming company, we've enabled millions to conquer Minecraft Dungeons, battle in Rust Console Edition, and create new adventures in Fallout 76. Our 400-person team proudly represents over 30 nationalities, and we strive to avoid crunch, offering flexible working hours and planned, optional overtime.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and implementing systems and game code to a high standard
  • Performing code reviews with the development team to ensure code quality
  • Collaborating with designers, artists, and publishing teams to create high-quality titles
  • Leading a team, taking responsibility for their personal development and work delivery
  • Working with production on a project roadmap and delivering according to that schedule
  • Participating in regular client meetings and becoming the primary technical point of contact for the project

Requirements include:

  • Excellent knowledge of C++
  • Experience as a Lead or Senior Programmer in the games industry
  • Experience working in multiplayer games
  • Experience with proprietary or Unreal engines
  • Experience with modding is a bonus
  • Experience with scripting languages is a bonus
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with team members outside the code team
  • Ability to coach a small team of programmers
  • Able to break down and structure tasks to meet deadlines efficiently
