About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at International Automotive Components. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for managing complex products from quotation to launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage complex products from quotation to launch, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage multiple suppliers of tooling and capital, ensuring that timing and cost targets are met.
- Launch new products and processes into the business, ensuring that time and cost targets are met.
- Develop comprehensive timing plans in line with customer milestones.
- Develop pre-production processes and generate PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating instructions to support both pre-production and production processes.
- Design, develop, specify, and source key manufacturing equipment, and sign off new equipment, including management of run at rates and capability studies.
- Ensure products, processes, and materials are safe and complete health and safety documents as required.
- Support product design in the development of components, ensuring best-in-class design for manufacture.
- Produce workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates to support commercial activities.
- Manage changes through the CR system and ensure timely submission.
- Support quality in the close-out of customer concerns and aid root cause identification.
- Manage equipment installation and contractors, and support operations in the day-to-day running of the business.
- Generate cost-saving initiatives to support the plant's CI roadmap.
- Experience of aftermarket component supply is highly desirable.
Requirements:
- Degree-qualified in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience of working with an OEM.
- Knowledge of headliner manufacturing and assembly.
- Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on IT systems.
- Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st-tier automotive supplier, preferably within a just-in-time environment.
- Experience of Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing processes.
- Computer literate with MS Project.
- AutoCAD advantageous.
