Job Summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Medicines Efficiency Officer to join our Pharmacy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient storage and use of medicines within our hospital pharmacy and wider Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficient use of medicines procurement and usage.
  • Work closely with the Pharmacy Procurement & Distribution Team and Medicines Optimisation Team to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure that the expiry dates of all stock held within the Pharmacy department are assessed and develop processes to ensure maximum usability of stock before expiry.
  • Communicate with and organise the transfer or sale of stock medicines to other NHS Hospital Pharmacies to achieve value from medicines nearing their expiry date.
  • Assist in the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and error trend analysis.
