Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Benefits Assessor to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in assessing applications, statements and evidence for accuracy, calculating entitlement in accordance with legislation and local policies.
This is a contract position working full time hours, with a scope for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring ongoing entitlement is correct by investigating and processing change of circumstances quickly and accurately.
Salary: £22 per hour (umbrella)
Location: Haringey
Job Type: Full Time Contract (4 Months)
The role will involve undertaking reviews of entitlement as and when required, utilising information from all relevant sources. The candidate will also determine overpaid amounts of benefit, decide whether the overpayment is recoverable, identify the liable party and commence appropriate recovery action.
In addition, the benefits assessor will determine and advise on applications for discretionary funds, such as Discretionary Housing Payments.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience of all HB assessment including New Claims, Atlas, VEPs, HBAA and all change of circumstances
- Experience of assessing claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support is essential
- Good knowledge of iWorld and Information@work systems is desirable
