We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Planner to join our team at Taituarā. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading the analysis, support, and development of key Council plans.
The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of legislative frameworks, especially the Local Government Act 2002, and be able to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people.
Key responsibilities of the Corporate Planner role include:
- Coordinate and manage preparation and delivery of Council's Long-Term Plan, Annual Plan, and Annual Reports.
- Deliver quality project management processes, templates, and documentation.
- Provide regular reports of key statutory and corporate plans.
- Work alongside the Communications Team to provide effective community engagement.
- Develop and review internal Council policies and procedures to ensure consistency and statutory requirements are met.
- Provide practical policy advice for internal and external processes, or to other employees, Councillors, or committees when required.
- Deliver appropriate risk reporting and risk management policies and procedures.
Successful candidates will have a relevant tertiary qualification in planning, policy, resource management, or related field, or equivalent work experience. They will also have 3 – 5 years work experience in the local government sector or planning or policy development.
