A leading accountancy practice in Cheshire is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the management of a diverse client portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations, as well as experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client management for a portfolio of clients including individuals, SMEs, and larger organisations
  • Key point of contact for client queries
  • Preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns, VAT returns, and personal tax returns
  • Compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for annual filings and tax submissions
  • Ability to stay abreast of changes within tax legislation allowing clients to be notified accordingly
  • Taking the lead on preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Assisting and advising clients on budgeting, cash flow forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial planning
  • Assist in mentoring, supporting, and advising junior team members to ensure career progression while reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuous improvement of internal processes to enhance efficiency and service
  • Utilisation of accounting software
Requirements:
  • ACA or ACCA Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 4 years accountancy practice experience
  • Experience of dealing with a varied client portfolio
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Ability to prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring junior accountants
  • Proficiency in accounting software: Xero and QuickBooks
  • Strong, demonstrable IT skills, particularly Excel
  • A strong communicator with good organisational skills
  • A detail-conscious individual with great attention to accuracy
Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:15 am - 5:00 pm, Friday: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

Salary:

GBP35,000 - GBP45,000 Per Annum
