Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced High-Voltage Engineering Professional to join our team in Workington, Cumbria. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing innovative solutions for high-voltage engineering projects.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering and experience in 2D CAD design using AutoCAD. They will be responsible for creating high-quality designs, performing technical calculations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality 2D design drawings and schematics for cutting-edge control panels, electrical equipment, and machinery.
  • Perform precise technical and design calculations to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Contribute to the full project lifecycle from concept and design to installation, commissioning, and operational support.
  • Develop innovative prototypes and inactive test rigs to validate new technologies before deployment.
  • Prepare comprehensive product safety documents, including risk assessments, method statements, and operation/maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure all designs comply with legislative, regulatory, and company policies, including CE/UKCA marking standards.
  • Provide expert guidance to technicians and craft personnel while supporting multi-disciplinary teams in achieving project objectives.
  • Lead procurement processes by preparing specifications, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring quality delivery.
  • Conduct on-site equipment and system surveys, documenting findings to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Design, install, and commission electrical building services for inactive test rigs.
  • Produce technical reports and offer technical advice to ensure project success.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, coupled with experience in 2D CAD design (AutoCAD preferred).
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively.
  • Eligibility for SC-level clearance, requiring 5 years of UK residency.
