Job Overview

The Vertical Transportation Consultant role at TÜV SÜD involves providing expert services to clients in the vertical transportation industry. Key responsibilities include conducting site surveys, evaluating existing installations, and producing condition and feasibility reports with recommendations and budgets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Key duties include:

  • Carrying out site surveys and evaluations of existing vertical transport installations
  • Producing condition and feasibility reports for clients with recommendations, budgets, and solutions
  • Producing technical and performance specifications
  • Analysis of contractor proposals and production of tender reports
  • Management of refurbishment and new installations from concept to handover
  • Quality auditing of existing installations for maintenance reporting
  • Client account management – liaising with contractors to ensure delivery of their contracted services
  • Preparation of fee proposals, invoicing, and credit control for projects and service client responsibilities
  • Seeking and generating new clients and projects
  • Producing Excel spreadsheet reports, graphs, and data
  • Proofreading technical reports
  • Assist in completion of PQQ and tender questionnaires and documentation

Essential Criteria

Key qualifications include:

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Passionate about the vertical transportation industry and delivering outstanding service to clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive experience in lift industry operational roles
  • NVQ3
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes of practice
  • BTEC HNC Mechanical or Electrical, or higher qualification
  • IT competent
  • Lift management experience

Desirable Criteria

Desirable qualifications include:

  • NVQ4
  • Account management experience
  • Experience of Principal Designer duties
  • Achieved or working towards Chartership
  • Experience with traffic analysis
  • Health and safety qualification e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH
  • Commercial experience (sales)
  • Working knowledge of MF/1, JCT, NEC contracts
  • Experience of escalators/moving walks
