Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Professional to join our team at Element Solutions Inc. as a Buyer. This role will be based at our Ashby site and is responsible for managing relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, and overseeing sourcing strategies in line with business objectives.

About the Role

  • Interpret production plans and forecasts to support business manufacturing requirements.
  • Negotiate and agree terms and conditions with suppliers consistent with the recommendations of the Source Plan.
  • Act as the Purchasing team member responsible for a particular sector of the business, involved in new product development, product launches, and other activities as necessary.
  • Prepare budgets by forecasting future prices based on analysis of market information and agree with Purchasing Manager.
  • Monitor price performance versus budget and actuals.
  • Report price performance and other relevant quality/market issues to interested departments and advise the company Directors via the Purchasing Report.
  • Research and identify alternative supply sources for existing or new goods and services to ensure continuity of supply and improve brand profitability, team working as necessary.
  • Conduct visits to suppliers in order to appraise production capabilities and to determine commercial viability.

What We Offer

In this role, you will receive a competitive base salary of around £35,000 per annum, plus a generous performance-related bonus scheme. You will also participate in a pension scheme, life assurance, health cash plan, learning and development opportunities, 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service), and free on-site parking.

  • Results-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly organised and methodical
