Support Young People to Achieve Their Aspirations

New College Swindon is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Progress Coaches. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with Curriculum Managers and teaching staff to support students in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Progress Coach to a designated number of learners, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion of their educational journey.
  • Support learners' induction, performance, progress, and progression, addressing any barriers to learning that may arise.
  • Monitor student attendance and collaborate with curriculum teams to improve attendance in line with college policy.
  • Respond promptly to any challenges faced by learners, implementing proactive intervention strategies and referring them to relevant support services when necessary.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification in youth work, teaching, training, or a related field, or be willing to pursue this further.
  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy.
  • The ability and willingness to complete internally accredited training to enhance the effectiveness of the role.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Experience working with young people in educational settings or other contexts.
  • Ability to write accurate documentation suitable for referrals.
