Mechanical Design Engineer

Talent84 LTD is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in South Tyneside. As a key member of the Design Office, you will be responsible for generating designs, conducting R&D, and creating associated documentation to support pre and post-customer contracts.
Main Responsibilities- Develop conceptual designs for tenders and detail designs for contracts and new product development.
- Produce and manage models and engineering drawings within the Company's CAD systems.
- Utilize the Company's component databases to promote the reuse of existing designs.
- Perform performance calculations using the Company's suite of software.
- Participate in design review meetings.
- Generate and transfer required departmental design documentation deliverables.
- Maintain component part records in the company database systems and other documents required by business quality system processes.
- Continuously seek to propose the most cost-effective design.
To be considered for this role, you must possess demonstrable experience as a design engineer or draughtsman in a mechanical engineering setting, with a strong understanding of material strength. A minimum of an HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (or related subject) is required.
Key Selection Criteria- Proven experience with 3D & 2D Design packages (Creo/Pro-Engineer preferred).
- Experience designing castings, fabrications, and precision machined components.
- Familiarity with cast, fabricated, and precision machined components.
